2 - Signal Transmission Media
There are different means of transferring signals collected by the camera to other types of equipment that will further process them and finally permit viewing images on a screen.

This is quite a technical subject. As long as video signals are transmitted efficiently, the user should not worry. Except for the notion that cables need be laid out to connect equipment, or that wireless signals may suffer from radio interference.

3 - Monitors
are used to view the images. In fact they are similar to television sets but they lack the tuning capability (radio frequency (RF) section) that permits to select from different channels of transmission. Most of times an old, unused TV set might be all you need.

4 - Video Recording Systems
of different basic technology are available that present various features. The expression "Video Recording System" is employed here in a larger meaning.

What was originally known as a Video Cassette Recorder (VCR), making use of magnetic tape as the recording medium, is now almost rendered obsolete by a newer gadget known as DVR (Digital Video Recorder), capable of recording and of reproducing on a monitor the images burnt on a compact disk (CD).

Actually images can be recorded also on the hard drive of a computer and in the future still more advanced development may flood the market. Therefore the word "Video" in this exposition means whatever images recording system is actually used.
