Projectors:
Explain and Convince with an Impact
Home > Video Surveillance > Projectors
Projectors are devices that permit Projection of images onto a screen for viewing. If you type Projection in the window of a search engine you will get a lot of descriptions of different types of projections, used along the centuries to show on a two dimensional surface the representation of a three dimensional view of a landscape or of a geometric body. All this can be fortified by mathematical formulas to exclude any doubt on the significance of the representation and on its relation to the reality it is meant to describe. However, in common parlance, projectors perform the simple operation of projecting on a wall or on a screen, for the whole audience to see, the view of some interesting subject illustrated by the lecturer. The purpose of these devices it to catch the attention by making use of one more sense, the sense of sight, besides the sense of hearing. It is believed, and it is probably true, that the attention of listeners, and not only of children, may have a short span, and be easily distracted by an occasional view or even by an extraneous thought. Much depends of course on the quality of the orator. The best ones capture the audience attention seemingly without any effort and keep the listeners subjugated to the flow of their discourse. This kind of orator may not need projections. But for the great majority of speakers, who are called to present a project or a product, a visual projection may illustrate the subtle points much more easily than by words alone. It may be the list of the main points of the presentation or some graphic illustrating trends or totals, itemized accounts or forecasts, in short a tool for conveying the important meanings of the assertions exposed. It seems that generations of pupils and students could profit with more effective learning if the subjects were always presented audio-visually. The cost of the equipment needed is negligible if compared with the much greater success of teaching.Part of the study program could be prepared by the students themselves. Depending on the nature of available sources of information and on requirements, different types of projecting devices may be needed. Nowadays, as there is increased use of materials prepared on computers, projectors will cast on screen the slide show either automatically or on demand. Also hardcopy pages can be projected, besides regular slides, if that is preferred, but every device is generally dedicated to only one form of Projectors.
