Furthermore they have to give specific directions on the required ways to implement the planned precautions. Law requirements may be different depending on the location, but in general the provisions are meant to assure the safety of the employees in their workplace.

Some of the official documents make explicit reference to the obligation of the employer of engaging in consultation with the employees in order to establish agreed upon Cash-In-Transit procedures.

In particular any possible risks to health and safety for those employed in Cash-In-Transit activities must be identified, assessed and eliminated or at least controlled. Suitable training and supervising activities should be singled out to improve the preparedness of the people involved.

A protocol of consultation discussions must be maintained, and agreed upon procedures must be followed. In case of disagreement, where employees fear that specific risks to their health and safety in their workplace are not adequately covered, they have the right to request renewed consultations with external agents in view of finding acceptable solutions.

Definite ways to assess the potentials hazards connected with Cash-In-Transit work are suggested by official publications, including consultations with professionals and other bodies where knowledge and previous experience may be publicly available.

Attention is given to adequate means of communication and to the time and methods of performing the required activities. Personal protective equipmentand other useful equipment and technologies must be explored to determine if their use is likely to improve security.

Given the hazards, the risks of any of them causing injury to employees or persons of the public must be assessed, for trying to identify the conditions that will reduce, remove or control such risks.

Although the procedures developed are intended to be followed by all involved, as a measure of security the actual timing and sequences are to be planned for frequent changes, so that no observer could easily infer a fixed routine to attack.

A special chapter of precaution should involve the development and training of suitable actions to be taken by employees assigned to Cash-In-Transit in case they are involved in unfortunate events like robbery or car accidents. The point is to minimize the risk of actual injury.
